Can you hear those Lions, Lioness and Leos
Roar? I can!
THANK YOU LIONS, LIONESS AND LEO’S for helping
District Governor Bob and his Convention
Committee make our 2007/2008 District Convention
a wonderful success! We all owe Mike Sadler and
his hard working Committee a “Big Thank You”. No
team could have worked harder for this District!
Not to mention a big “high five” to Governor Bob
and Char! It was good to see so many Clubs
represented, the club Banners displayed, the fun
at the Puppy races, and just to have such a good
time with our fellow L ions, Lioness and Leos.
Next time you see a Michigan Center Leo, ask
them about their most recent and highly
successful project.
Look for their report in an upcoming
communication and on the District Web Site.
Advisor Rick Pawson, and his Leo Club took up my
Challenge and turned $100 into more than $1,000
to aid a local child. Congratulations, Michigan
Center Leos! We can’t wait to read your report.
Look for the Napoleons Leos to take up the next
Challenge.
As we near the end of this Lions year, I would
like to “Thank every Lion in our District” for
the work you do to support your local club and
community, your Zone, your District and beyond.
I am still working on our Committees, goals,
planning training, and supporting Vicki
Lautzenheiser as she prepares our Roster for the
coming year. We are all busy as we gear up
to change our officers for the new Lions year of
2008/2009, and hopefully
every club has prepared and submitted their
PU101 reports. These reports are so important,
as they allow us to have an up to date and
accurate Roster for the 2008/2009 Lions year.
Roster Chairman Vicki has asked that each
Committee Chairman, and Cabinet Officer send her
up to date email, phone number and address
information as soon as possible. Her email
address is in the Current Roster.
Please forward your address, phone number (cell
and home or business) and email address
if you are a member of a committee or serving in
some capacity in the District or if
you are a going to be a Club President,
Secretary, Treasurer, or Membership Director in
2008-09, please forward this information as it
will help update our district roster.
Please forward by email or snail mail to Lion
Vicki Lautzenheiser, PO Box 6581
Jackson 49204 or email at
lautzevl@modempool.com.

Most of you are aware, we have a “District
Treasurer Chest” derived from the Art lottery
drawings at each club. Right now it is up to a
little over $600. I still have a couple of clubs
to visit, so the Presidents can draw a key and
take part in the drawing on July 21, 2008
At Banner Exchange night each Club President
will try their Key. The Club President with the
key that opens the padlock will receive the
entire amount to take home to their club. This
money can be used in either their Administrative
or Activities fund.
Previews of Coming Events:
May 1 - (Officers Training) AKA Spring
Leadership Forum
May 16 and 17 - Multi District Convention at
Sault St Marie
May 31 - District Cabinet Training in Lansing
June 6 - “The Gathering of the Presidents” This
is the follow up to last October’s event. All
Current and Incoming Lions, Lioness, and Leo
Presidents are invited. The Clark Lions Club is
going to allow me to use their beautiful Club
House to Host this event! The Cabinet Secretary,
Jean Engel, will be sending out an email to all
Presidents in the near future. We will enjoy a
light supper, and short meeting. Just like last
fall, the purpose of this event is for me to
hear your ideas, your concerns and follow up on
your thoughts from last fall.
I need to hear from you! I want to know what you
want to accomplish in the upcoming year. I will
have the Draft District goals available to hand
out. An evening on Clark Lake in June, I don’t
think life gets much better.
July 21 - Banner Exchange Night – Hosted by the
Parma Spring Arbor Lions Club in their large
beautiful meeting room. This is an important
event! The District Governor’s Banner moves from
the President of the Munith Lions Club to the
President of the Jackson Eye Openers Lions Club.
Your District Cabinet will be installed by our
PID and PDG’s. You will get to meet all the
District Officers, Committee Chairs and members,
District Chaplain, District Pin Chairman and
friends from the past and present. You will also
receive
your new District Roster from your Zone
Chairman. We will be opening the District
Treasurer Chest, and one club will take home
more than $600. You can Purchase the new
Governor and State Pins. If the Clubs have items
they want to sell or display, we can make tables
available. We will make tables available to
Peace Poster, and any other project that needs a
table. We are going to have special music,
(including a solo from Lion Nancy Koker’s
grand-daughter), fun, good food and fellowship!
Mark your Calendars today, so you won’t miss
this 11B1 Event! Meal Cost of this meeting will
be $9.00. The ladies at Parma Spring Arbor
really know how to do a meal right. More
information to follow in the coming
weeks. Remember: “Today millions see,
because a few Lions, Lioness & Leos cared.”
Yours in Lionism,
